San Antonio State Hospital
San Antonio State Hospital is a psychiatric hospital providing long-term and short-term residences and crisis treatment for a variety of patients with metal and behavioral challenges.
The project consists of construction of a new 3 story 469,974 GSF replacement hospital. The basic design scheme consists of inpatient units on both sides of a linear spine running north-south on the site with shared therapy spaces and building support services located in the spine between the units. There are approximately 300 single bed patient rooms. The administrative, clinical and admissions components are located at the north end of the spline. There are also 2 interior courtyards and 9 perimeter courtyards included in this estimate. The cost for these as well as associated perimeter fencing have been included in the Site portion of the estimate.
RIB U.S.COST provided estimating services, from program validation to construction documentation. The cost estimate was successfully reconciled with Vaughn Construction during the preconstruction period.
