Emory University Hospital J-Wing Expansion
The Emory University Hospital J-Wing Expansion was the largest healthcare project in Atlanta during its construction in 2016. This state-of-the-art facility consists of 232 patient beds including critical care beds. The new tower serves cancer patients receiving care from the Winship Cancer Institute. Additionally, the new tower also serves kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients.
RIB U.S. Cost provided multi-phase, 5D Estimating services using BIM technology for this project. Smith Group JJR provided Revit models, in addition to PDF drawings, which added to the estimating team’s understanding the scope and design intent. The Revit models also facilitated the quantity take off (QTO) exercise for this project.
The project opened in 2017 and was voted ENR Southeast’s Best Projects in 2018.
