The Kendeda Building is the first academic and research building in the Southeast to pursue Living Building Challenge 3.1 certification – the world’s most ambitious green building program. Located at Georgia Tech’s campus, it includes 47,000 square feet of classrooms, research facilities, offices, and multi-purpose spaces for gathering. The Kendeda Building will need to meet 20 specific performance “Imperatives” for 12 consecutive months of occupancy and operation.

Kendeda’s Living Building Certification is anticipated in 2021. The project is also pursuing the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum certification.
